At Six Shooter Kikos, our commitment to breeding excellence is reflected in our selection process for bucklings and doelings born on the farm. Through careful culling and a stringent registration policy, our goal is to not only enhance the quality of our own Kiko herd but also offer outstanding kids to other farms.
In 2021, two exceptional does, SSS Steel More Cowbell and SSS Blues Wild Rose, were added to our herd. These first-timers proved their worth by each providing the farm with a set of twins in 2022.
The 2022 kid class presented us with more choices, and we've retained several NZ and Purebred Kiko does over the past year. Some of these promising does will become integral parts of the Six Shooter Kiko herd, while others will be made available to farms seeking quality genetics.
The 2023 kid class is showing remarkable potential, surpassing the previous year. As these kids grow throughout 2023 and into 2024, decisions will be made on those that will join our breeding program and those that will be offered to other farms. For information on the 2023 kids, you can visit the "Babies" page. At Six Shooter Kikos, our dedication to quality extends beyond our farm, as we aim to contribute positively to the broader Kiko community.
We get numerous inquiries throughout the year and if you've reached out, you probably heard us respond that we prefer to keep our kids on the farm for several months before selling. We want to be sure that the kikos that leave our farm are going to do well on your farm as well. It's difficult to know if goats at a young age will turn out to be worthy of breeding stock so we prefer to give them each time to grow and thrive before offering them for sale. Every farm makes their own decisions on culling and selling, but here at Six Shooter Kikos we want to be proud of the goats we send to your farm.
